Goodwood Festival of Speed | My Highlights Reel

Saturday, 1 July 2017

.
On Saturday I went along to the Goodwood Festival of Speed in Chichester, West Sussex. It was a full day of events, very well organised to showcase vehicles from all areas of performance. The main event is the hill climb, with cars from 6 different classes. These Batches were; pre WWI, touring, rally NASCAR and drift, sports cars and GTs, F1, Ferrari and single seaters, and Supercars. As well as this there was an aero section including typhoon and red arrow displays, helicopters and other historic planes, and an action sports section with BMX, mountain bike and motocross.

The Goodwood festival of speed has been going since 1996, with 2003 being the biggest year with 158,000 people attending. The festival is held over four days, Thursday through Sunday, and is held annually in June/July to avoid clashing with the F1 season.

I got up close and personal with a couple of show cars, and took some photos of my favourites from the day. Some personal favourites of mine included seeing Ken Block's car, the red arrow aero display, and the beautiful orange Porsche with custom woven blue orange and cream tartan interior panels.
